Water
The Willits water system is a City owned utility which includes Morris and Centennial reservoirs and their associated watersheds, the water treatment plant and distribution system, and water storage tanks. The water plant is located on the watershed near Morris Reservoir. The plant was constructed in 1989 and has the capacity to produce 2.2 million gallons of drinking water per day.
A dedicated crew of 5 operators that are licensed in both water treatment and water distribution maintain the system to a high standard which includes 24 hours, 7 days a week service and emergency call-outs.
Scheduled projects for the water system include the replacement of 4000′ of the main transmission line to town and the distribution main on Highway 101 between Valley Street and the high school. These projects will go far in our goal of providing the City of Willits with the best water system possible.
